Pre-Purchase Inspection

Fairfield County Motorsport offers PPI services on newer and vintage German vehicles our services typically 2-3 hours for a proper inspection, in some cases where warranted additional time may be required. The typical inspection starts with a road test, during the road test the various car systems are given a function test, the drivability, handling, braking are all assessed at this time. Next the car is brought into the shop for a walk around during this time we paint meter the car and evaluate any nicks or damage. Where applicable we perform a vehicle scan of car systems. Following this we set the car on the shop lift first at half height for another walk around then full height for a nose to tail inspection of the suspension, brakes and drive train. We will be looking for wear, leaks, condition or damage with particular attention paid to anything picked up during the drive test and walk around. Finally we inspect the engine, luggage and interior compartments. We inspect belts, hoses, fluid levels and condition. We inspect wear general condition of the interior and luggage areas and pay attention for flood damage. Our written summary report is typically 7-8 pages and where appropriate pictures are provided. Once you’ve had a chance to read the report we are happy to discuss in detail and where applicable may recommend further testing. Remember the PPI is an inspection by trained professionals familiar with these cars this is not diagnosis.
